Ketchikan's waterfront, cruise terminal, Tongass Narrows, and lodge locations are not interchangeable. Ask for the exact meeting point and included transfer.

Confirm species, area, date, nonresident limits, and any current emergency order. A charter's target list is not a guarantee that every species is open for retention.
Ask about the final handoff

Can we fish during a Ketchikan cruise stop?+
Sometimes, but the useful fishing window is shorter than the port schedule suggests. Transfer time, all-aboard margin, fish processing, and marine weather all need to fit. An overnight before or after the cruise is usually a stronger plan.
Should we stay downtown or near the charter?+
Start with the departure harbor. A waterfront hotel is not automatically close to every boat, and a lodge farther from town may include transfers that simplify the day.
Is Ketchikan only for salmon?+
No. Halibut and other marine species can be part of a trip where seasons and regulations allow. The right target mix depends on date, range, and current management.
