Our listing policy
A useful starting point, with a source for each detail.
What we research
We read official business websites and public FishingBooker Alaska result pages, and write original summaries of practical trip details: species advertised, formats, duration, capacity, published price conditions, lodging, and fish handling. Sources and review dates appear on every profile. The oldest source date determines the profile’s review date.
Our statewide FishingBooker snapshot
The October 11, 2026 snapshot contains all 190 unique listing IDs from 22 pages of FishingBooker’s statewide Alaska catalog, covering 30 listed departure locations. We use the statewide results without date or party-size filters. These are marketplace listings, not 190 unique businesses: separate boats or trip formats can belong to the same operator. Three confirmed matches share our existing researched profiles; other listings retain separate IDs.
Imported facts are limited to listing names, departure locations, listing type, reported capacity, and vessel details. Their source links point to the public results pages where we read those facts. A profile’s FishingBooker link opens the specific listing. We do not import operator descriptions, reviews, ratings, prices, availability, or photos. “FishingBooker snapshot” identifies third-party information and does not imply owner confirmation, a partnership with FishingBooker, or a live data feed. Our broad “All guided fishing trips” category avoids guessing the fishing waters of a listing.
What a listing means
“Public sources reviewed” means we read the pages cited. It does not mean the operator confirmed the listing, passed an inspection, or agreed to take referrals. Our directory is currently independent and alphabetical. We do not publish invented reviews or ratings.
Prices, seasons, and unknowns
We retain the unit, year, and inclusions stated by a source. A published price is not a quote or a promise of availability. Advertised fishing seasons are not legal season determinations. Missing information remains unknown; restroom availability does not establish wheelchair access, and a family photograph does not establish a child policy.
Corrections and owner updates
Anyone can submit a sourced correction. A claim to own a business enters a private review queue and does not immediately change a profile. We review evidence before publishing. Source checks can flag page changes, but a successful page fetch does not renew the date a fact was reviewed.
Independence and future sponsorships
No listings in this initial directory are paid placements. If we introduce paid placements, they will be labeled “Sponsored” and separated from alphabetical results. Referral or affiliate arrangements will be disclosed beside the relevant action. We do not describe a click as a lead, a booking, or revenue.
Images and credits
Listing images show a destination or an illustrative fishing scene. They are not photographs of the listed business, its staff, boats, accommodation, or facilities. Illustrative trip images are AI-created concept photography. Business details come from the cited written sources, not from these images.
